Gravid Spot

why does my guppies gravid spot keep going and coming and when its there its not really pure black its just like bits of black. when its not there its like a yellowly clear colour. then on my other female its more pure black and that one doesnt go and come back as much as the other one. whys this?

Completely normal. Light angles make a difference too. The spot may look like it comes and goes.

if your females are white ones then a gravid spot wont always be there ive found this out with mine, its only the grey/darker females that keep there gravid spot

Gravid spots are always present in the fish, but they should darken when you have a pregnant fish. The darkness is due to the fact that you are seeing the light blocked by the fry developing inside the female. Whether pregnant or not, color can change with lighting very drastically.

well when i turn the tank light off the gravid spot shows really well and dark. anyone else notice that when the lights darker.

Yes i have noticed that...I've also noticed that when the tank light is on and they swim to the surface and the light hits them just right it looks red like an embryo.
