Gravel To Sand With Before And After Pics

The best bit is it only needed one bag of sand so cost a whopping £2.68 for the entire tank! :hyper:

Mike

yeah thats why i went for it originally....

but looks got the better of me and i paid a little bit more from my LFS but was worth it as much more natural looking now....

catfish love sand, and i love watching them burrow in it.

Big improvement, I recently bought Argos sand to Scape my small tank,
It's very good for the money, but I looked rather strange carrying it over my shoulder on the high street
I've still got 90% of it left in the bag, I'm tempted to put in my 35litre :D but don't know whether I should...

I had the same idea as you and my tank looked alot better but after a couple of months I had to go back to gravel. The argos play sand started to go grey underneath and was really smelly.

I looked a little odd carrying Playsand into a flat with no garden!

Hmmmm hopefully this wont happen to me.

maybe as someone said its the quality of the picture that makes it look better, but your happy and thats all that matters :)

Once it has cleared (I think it has already but the lights dont come on till 10) I will get a picture from the same angle on my camera and post that.

I have updated the After picture on the first post so they are more comparative.

i hated my sand as it always used to make the tank look dirty as the poo stands out

I see that as a good thing, because at least you know its not deep in the gravel causing problems, will also work as an added incentive to do a water change, maybe im just odd

will be interesting to see how your plants settle back in , all in all a better looking tank , well done fella

Once I have my 55 gal all set up I'm going to be doing the same thing. Where did you put the fish when you switch it out? I have a 47 gal I got for free I was going to put them in that as I worked on the tank.
