Gravel Or Sand

I had sand, and it looked great for about six months, then it just got too dirty, even with cleaning, it still looked "wrong" my plants all died and the sand no matter how careful you are always gets in to internal filters and messes up the bit that turns round, I can never remember what s it called.

any how, sand is lovely but its very high maintence.

I used playsand from argos very cheap, just rinse it well first.

Same as above. I use playsand from argos and so far im really happy with it.

Yep - the 2mm pea gravel you can stick a gravel vac right into it and it doesn't get sucked up - well, some might but nothing near the extent of sand.

Pool filter sand might also be an option. Very cheap.
