I have a 10 gallon tank that I started cycling today. I have been looking at fish for a couple weeks now. I am stuck between tetras and gouramis.

How many gouramis and what type can I have permanently in a 10 gal? Also, what do I feed them? Any specifics I should know before I purchase any fish?

Thanks!
Nikki

Good choices for a 10 gallon. I think you can have a Dwarf Gourami in there. Im not sure though how many since I never mixed my Dwarf gourami with another Dwarf. As far as I remember my Dwarf Gourami used to eat flakes and frozen bloodworms. Good Luck!

Or honey gouramis. If you don't mind a species that looks a bit different from the usual, sparkling gouramis.

you could have a group of sparkling gouramis and some tetras. Sparklers are lovely little gouramis :good:

harlequins are good. I have a school in a 10g with my betta, and they get along just fine. But I was recently told that harlequins are extreme swimmers and recommended to be in at least a 4ft tank. I will be moving mine when i get my 55g up and going.

You can have a sparkle gourami or a dwarf gourami. 1 of them though, because you MUST have 2 females per every male, due to the fact that 1 female and 1 male would cause the male to act aggressivley toward the female. i reccomend tropical fish flakes... but these are just my expeirences...

I'm not sure how many Gourami's you could keep in a 10G. But through my personal experience I have kept 3 dwarf gourami's together just fine in a 95L. And I have fed them a mix of flake food, frozen brine shrimp and frozen bloodworm.

Honey Gouramis aka Sunset Gouramis are a commonly sold gourami that doesn't obtain a large size. Contrary to belief Dwarf Guoramis are quite large when fully grown.

I tried to keep 2 Dwarf's in a 12g tank but it didn't go well.

I now have just the one and he is a great guy!!

Pppppppeeeeeooopppplleeesssss. U NEED to have more than one dwarf gourami per tank they get lonely

I hade mine in a tank for a week when I was quarantining the female and he just dulled but when I put in the female in he was so happy
