omg i just noticed that my neon blue and my flame dwarf Gouramis are fightings. i just now noticed it. the have done fine for about 5 days. are they going to kill each other? what should i do about this. shouldnt i delay getting new fish, or would that help. i only have those two gouramis and a snail. maybe more fish will stop the fighting??? this just makes me feel terrible. any help would make me feel so much better. thanx alot guys

Are they both males, as males will often fight each other??...I had 2 that were constantly fighting, although they never really done any serious damage

I agree, if you don't already have a mixture of males and females it's probably a good idea to get some, as this will hopefully reduce aggression a bit because the males will have a distraction! This will depend on whether you have enough room in your tank though - if you could post your tank dimensions/volume and how many fish you currently have in it, that would be v useful

hi, i had the same problem and was told the same as someone to add a female but i had no space for any more fish so i took the male who was causing the troubl back, i have one flame and one blue gourami in the tank now and everything is fine, i'm still new to fish keeping but some people say if you add more furniture ie hiding places, big rocks etc then the fish can choose their terrorties better or you could try moving what you've got around... This info could be wrong like i said i'm new myself but you will find loads of friendly people will help ya..... good luck :)

 The gourmis are pains in the BUTTS! I have four of them that constantly chase each other around the tank. Males will do this to each other all the time, it is a show of dominency. You can't make them stop, and most of the time the fighting is harmless. If you start noticing ripped fins or haggard swimming patters, you may want to consider adding a couple females to the tank, or seperating the two. That has been my experience! :D
