Fish Fanatic
I recently inherited a small 3-spot female gourami from a friend of mine (it was in a tank with 2 other gouramis that were about twice its size, and they were munching on her fins) and i loved it so much i decided to get it a couple similarly sized tank-mates a few weeks later, after she had fully recovered: one male 3-spot and another female 3-spot gourami. Unfortunately, my gourami must have already become quite territorial or something because she is picking on the other two, mostly the male. It's not something im worried about, shes not killing them or keeping them from eating, but I'd like it more if they all got along and i was wondering if there was a way i could make that happen without permanently moving the fish to new tanks. That tank is a 45 gallon btw. I have never heard of females being aggressive, so i'm a little shocked honestly.
What really worries me though is that the new female i got has a strange growth on her snout. It's a little bit smaller than her eye, and its behind her lips and kind of above her eye. It doesn't seem to interfere with her ability to eat or anything like that, and it currently doesnt appear to be infected and i doubt it's cancer because i figure she'd already be dead if it were... but honestly i have no clue what it is, and i'm worried that if i don't do something about it she could become infected and that might spread to my other fish. It does look like the skin of the growth is exposed to the water as it has pushed the scales apart a bit. I'd like to know if this is a valid concern, and if it is, if there's anything i could do about it.
lemme know if a picture would help, i could get a decent quality picture, but i can't get it right now. I can get it if it would help
