Hello folks my male red flame gourami has started to build a bubble nest but it keeps getting sweppt away by the current, so I put in some plants that reach the surface to give it something to hold onto.

I hope he gets it on with the female soon. But will he keep trying to make the nest until he is succesful or will he give up if it doesn't work?

Is there anything else I can do? :dunno:

Ok Chis, I had the same problem and I changed my filter for an airpump driven filter which doesnt push the water around. Put a nylon stocking fabric all around any apertures that the fry could get sucked in.
Also you can, for the duration of the breeding episode, swich off your filter, as Gourami like the water still and not crystal clear for breeding time.
Good luck,
