Got My Senegals Back

Spikey? exactly where?...

Try to grab the little buggers around the neck. They have a nasty suprise for you

And don't forget the fins...

I know they have spines in the ends of their fins, but the only plec, out the 4 I have, that I've seen spines "around the neck" is the BN?

And I've been on the recieving end of the BN before now  and that hurt a little

I'll have to watch my bulldog plec for the spines :D

Spiky fibs, spiky...spikes, and they're not exaclty smooth if you run your fingers down them. Apart from that, it's a bugger to even get them off the glass- I can't do it so I doubt a bichir could.

Hmmm, I just looked back and saw that this was referring to rubbernoses. I thought you were talking about bristlenoses, which as you say you've seen the neck spikes on...

I wouldn't say they are the only ones though. I don't think rubbernoses have any, but I've seen many others (including the bristlenoses of course) that do, and some are quite impressive (and scary).
