Get some pictures of him up for sure! Eagerly waiting. A hand feeding fish is always a joy, its an amazing trait to get with a fish
Jacks are just wonderfull cichlids to keep. I love them, and always will. I look forward to the day i set-up another Jack tank, and i think it will be sooner rather than later as they are beautifull fish. Very rewarding to keep, and breed. Don't shy away from the idea of keeping your Jack on his own though, as i think its just as good to keep a sinle specimen, as it is to get a pair. As i mentioned in one of your other threads, introducing him to a female might be tough seeing as he is already a mature adult fish.
I've kept both, with my male EBJD winning fish of the month here on TFF back in December 2010 (i think). Unfortunately i lost him a couple months ago for absolutely no good reason, and thats the problem with the electric blues. They are just really temperamental fish, they can be the picture of perfect health and then they keel over. It wasn't my first experience with them being so whimsical either, and for that reason i'm steering clear of them for a while. Also, they are really hit-and-miss with getting a good specimen. You see lots of nice ones on google images per se, but actually coming across a good bloodline for them is really tough. I got lucky, a few other people on the forum have come across them for sale as juvi's and bought them, sometimes paying good money. Only to find a few months down the line they have a runt, or the parents weren't quite from good stock. Alot of people use Jeff Rapps for EBJD's, and he has some nice fish, but i would never get an EB from his stock.
I'll be keeping a beady eye out for pictures!
