Got my first Plec today

sorry for butting in but, how big do leopard frog plecs grow?

anyone? they're an impressive fish.

Thanks Barbie and I think that it could be the leopard frog one. The yellow is very vivid but it says that youngsters are. I'm wondering if I should get the other one that is in the shop as they say a 12" square territory for each which is fine in the tank its in.

I'm getting some bristlenose guys at the weekend and wonder if they will be ok in the same tank? Its a 110 litres and has 8 betta juvies and 4 peppered cories. Not a problem if not as I have plenty of other tanks to put them in.

I got it at Codsall & wergs Garden Centre, they have an lfs in there. They are a little expensive compared to others, but they do get more interesting fish in there.

That is a beautiful plec.. I can't believe how much you paid for it! Now that I know how small they stay, I'm tempted to get one..
I adore the colours of yours.. it's just gorgeous.

Awww thanks littlefishie I think its beautiful too. I did pay over the odds for it as they are only £18.50 at Trimar but then you pay £10 for delivery so I guess its the same

Went back to the lfs today and asked him about labelling it an Imperial and he says its what his supplier calls it. He showed it me in his book and it had L134 next to it so Leopard Frog is correct. He still has another one but I managed to leave it there and get some albino bristlenoses instead for my other tank .

when I put the light on this morning I noticed its already cleaned off a third of the algae that's been very unsightly on the back of the tank

i could have bought zebras for £40 but i thought it was too expensive for a 12 fish so i didnt bother( i did know the prices but these were too small for my likeking ) they had about 24 of them

sorry my bad joby i think that the plec you have there is far better looking than a zebra plec in my oppion i think that you have gotten a very goog deal

i personally ended up getting a queen arabesque instead of a zebra as the good sized ones were around £59

I would have fainted if I'd seen the zebras for £40!! but I guess if they didn't look right then it wouldn't have been a good choice
