at lfs today i saw a large fish about 6-7 inches in length and very chunky. i assumed it was some kind of cichlid but after trying to find it on the net on cichlid sites its nowhere to be found.
so here is another one of my in depth descriptions
the fish in question was im sure a cichlid it had a 1 inch black band running from the gill plate down to the tail fin. half way down this black band was another black band that went over the back of the fish, almost like an upside down T. the fishes fins were a orange colour. each scale on the fish was noticable and almost looked outlined. the main colour of the fish was quite pale like a white/peach colour and the head had a pattern a bit like the one on some discus.
it was a great looking fish and was a decent price but i didnt get it as i didnt know anything about it!
im sure its name was something like diad.....
i have a pic on my phone but cant get it on the comp
the shop owners said it was very docile and would be ideal with an oscar but i wouldnt trust him as far as i can throw him...... although it was very calm in the tank with a syno catfish and a coupkle of other cichlids.
