got an empty 10gal for females

Ok so I have empty 10gallons lieing around. I was thinking of getting some females and putting them in them 4-6 to a tank. I was also wondering if I could still spawn them? I don't see why not. I had the idea of feeding them all as I would a female I am conditioning and putting the tank of a male next to them and seeing which female responds the most. Does this idea sound crazy? I appreciate anyones input.

Now, what do you mean by "still spawn them"- you mean can you condition them even though they're all in the same tank? You could definitely condition them for spawning, if that's what you mean, but rather than just putting the male closeby to test reactions, it might be wiser to first pick which female would make the best mate for your male on virtue of what you hope to get out of the spawn, rather than her willingness to mate with him (if the females you end up buying are all spawn sisters and likely to throw similar traits, then ignore that tip).

Do you have some females/a male in mind for purchase? It would be great to see some pics

Well I was gonna buy a few females from the same spawn. And the way I'm doing it is getting the male betta that I want to spawn with any one of them. Like for instance Iget females of different colors and I get a male that I would like to spawn with all of them. But I got a few good males I just lack females. I will be checking aquabid for updates tho.

i had 3 females in 1 tank and it didnt go so well so if u put females togther keep and eye on them females can be aggressive and fight like the males

IMO, 5 or 6 would be best. Plant heavily, and expect a bit of chasing and posturing as they work out their dominance order and establish territoties. Good luck.
