Did I read correctly, your tank is 200L or approximately 50 USG?
If that is true, you have a serious over kill going on. The filter you bought is said to be adequate for a 400 USG tank. This is 8 times your tank. I would give some thought to exchanging that filter for one that is more in your needs range and it will also be significantly less thab the FX5. You might also give so thought to the advice, if any that was given to you by the sales person, if any.

I would agree that this is well OTT for a 4 footer... but then again, you cant really overfilter !

Gigantic overkill. If you are going to reduce the flow so that the fish don't ride on a current - you might as well think about buying a filter more appropriate. But if there's a specific reason behind such a huge overkill I'd be interested to hear
