in the last few days hes done a brilliant job of cleaning the tank up, is it possible for him to run low on food? would i need anythin extra for him?

not sure what he is but its golden, he sticks to the wall of tank and ya can see his mouth sucking, got long thin tail, maybe a catfish type apearance at front

Is it torpedo like in shape as opposed to a pleco shape. If it is and it is brown with perhaps a zig-zag type marking along its flank, it could well be a Chinese algae eater.(Gyrinocheilus aymonieri)
These can be aggressive, especially to their own kind. When young they will devour algae but will become quite lazy when they reach adulthood. Their food should be supplemented with good quality algae wafers. You should avoid keeping them with flat sided fish such as angels, as they tend to try and suck onto any flat surface.

is he long & skinny??? sounds a bit like a chinese algae eater or also known as a golden algae eater... just be aware they are placid when young but when mature they can become aggressive & start attacking other fish, sucking on their slime coats & eyeballs....im not joking we had terrible probs with a cae that we bought through ignorance/bad lfs advice....dont want to put you off your new fishie but something to be aware of if indeed it turns out to be a cae. we had to catch & rehome ours as at about 6 months (he started attacking our poor corys)...shame as he was a great little fish but just not suited to our community tank.

hmmn i dont know what he is, ive been looking for pics but cant find any to compare him, his eyes are gold coloured to like his body

hmmn i am coming to conclusion he looks more like a pleco, chunky body thin long tail do they do a pleco algae eater?

If you find out you have a CAE,mine does good with my zippy mollies and guppies. Fish that are small and fast can get away if it tries anything. Mine is really good,he keeps the bottom of the tank sparkling clean and still eats algae. He's about 5 inches long now, about half grown. He LOVES algae wafers and shrimp pellets...He goes mad for them. He's a good boy. I'm lucky. :)

Ok, I use Copernic as my search program...and I recommend it to everyone. Anyways, I found a few pics of a chinese algae eater out there. You wouldn't believe how few pictures there are of them!! I'm posting 2 pictures for you...check them out and see if these look anything like your fish!

I hope those works!! Enjoy, and keep the posts coming!!

Happy Easter All!!!! :kewlpics:
