Good Songs To Cover

I think Snoop Dogg's, Gin & Juice would fly better if brought to acoustic

Ain't nothin' But A G Thang, would work too under the right key.

I love the idea of an acoustic rap song. Not sure if i'd have the balls to rap though. Maybe a rap song with a melodic chorus would be cool. Or maybe I could change it up to sing the rappy bits. Definately would be a challenge though which is what i'm looking for!

Sorry, that's kind of what I meant. I didn't mean for you to actually rap the song, but do a singing cover :).

i heard a cover that totally amazed me. K T Tunstall doing 'get your freak on' by missy elliot. mega.

most songs by the Verve sound good acoustic. how about stand by me, the original one john lennon covered, not the oasis one.

What about 'Fast Car' by Tracy Chapman?

James

i saw ace of spades has replied, and that reminded me

you must have seen that mint kronenbourg ad with motorhead chilling int eh frnech bar, busting out ace of spades to a harmonica. the tempo they play it at suits the song hugely, one of the best 'alternate versions' of a song ive heard. i wish i could find the full track somewhere.

im a guitarist myself and regularly do an acoustic slot.

my setlist is as follows.

AHA - take on me
Gary Moore - over the hills and far away
Firewind - falling to pieces
Frank sinatra - my way
depeche mode - strangelove
depeche mode - enjoy the silence
lionel richie - hello
yngwie malmsteen - rising force (it actually works on acoustic!)
nicole atkins - maybe tonight
nicole atkins - neptune city
dire straits - sultans of swing
gary moore - still got the blues
michael jackson - billie jean (slowed down)
nightwish - the islander

and a few more i cant remember.

I quite like Underdog acoustic cover, kelly rowland did a pretty nice version of it.

+1 on oasis, strum away lol

Love anything by the Red Hot Chili Peppers too, especially under the bridge
