I was doing a load of laundry today and decided I would go into my brother's room and grab some of his laundry because God knows, if I didn't it'd never get done. I was pulling shirts off his stereo and wasn't even thinking about the betta he'd bought about a month ago. I noticed I didn't see the tank in the room right before I pulled a t-shirt off the one gallon tank he is in. He was mad as hell, let me tell you. His water was a grungy mess and he'd had no food for a while. He used to be quite a large tank of a betta. Seriously. He was huge. He was shrivled looking and flaring at me. I was surprised he could still flare. I dropped my laundry, scooped him out into a cup, cleaned his tank really well and put him in my room. He has ALREADY built a bubble nest (3 hours after his tank cleaning), eating like a pig. (I'm not feeding him too much because I'm sure after all that time not eating, he needs to build back up to normal schedule.) His water temp is slowly increasing to get him up to nice warm waters again. I gave him a new name and scolded my brother appropriately. Poor guy. He's an old one, too. An old beefy tank of a betta. haha! Hopefully he'll get some of his charm back. He's not shy at all, but he's not happy when he sees people walk towards his tank.

He'll learn to like it though. He always gets food :)

awwwww, how terrible.I'm so glad you decided to do laundry today, you were/are his "knight in shimmering armour"

As for your brother....oooooo! Guilt him good!! He deserves it :grr:

At first I thought you were going to say that the tank got knocked over when you grabbed a shirt  , I almost think that would have been better than finding him in the dump he was in :(

Hi Dreaded :)

I thought the same thing, too.

It sounds like your brother is maybe.............8 years old?

Seriously, he is one lucky betta!! At least now he'll have a good life with you and all your bettas. Clean water, good food and loving attention; what more could a betta want?!
