Fish Herder
Before you guys all read this topic, I'll say firstly that the male and the female are okay, though it was a pretty freaky experience.
Okay, so my female guppy was giving birth, and since male guppies like to pass their genes on, they mate with the females like crazy while giving birth (stating the obvious, lol). So the male was mating with the female who was giving birth. I left the room for a couple minutes, came back, and I saw that the male guppy was stuck INSIDE the female. He was kind of crooked, and his gonopodium was stuck inside her!
Of course, she was freaking out, swimming everywhere in the tank, and since the male was almost on her back, when the female swam to the surface, the male was practically out of the water. I thought they'd be able to get unstuck themselves, but obviously not. They were like this for a couple minutes, (or more) while I sat there panicking, my brother laughing away and my Mom trying to think of a solution. Finally, my Mom suggested I stick a net in there and try to separate the two. The female got tired of carrying the male around and rested in the java moss. I saw my chance, stuck the net in the water between the two fish, and they separated easily.
Has anyone ever had this experience before? I thought it was the weirdest thing, too bad my brother didn't run down and get the camera like he soo wanted to, because it was surely a sight to see.
And like I said before, the fish are OKAY. The female is a little stressed, (But they always are before/during/after giving birth) and the male looks a little..... crooked.... But otherwise, they are all fine.
Thanks for reading,

**Oh, and she's had about 30 fry so far.
