Sometimes I think we worry too much.
No animal will intentionally starve itself.
He'll eventually eat, just keep offering a couple of pellets, if he hasn't eaten them in 20 mins or so remove them.
He'll soon learn to eat what's offered.

In reality, my betta splendens only ever see whatever I am feeding the rest of the tank. Surprise, surprise, I do not maintain any exclusive betta tanks. Instead my boys must fend with the other denizens of their tanks. In reality, I agree with Cazgsr. My fish eat whatever I give them. The bettas in my care are no exception.

he's eating again and he's eating the pellets. Thankyou all for the help, I'm not sure what did it but he's even more keen than he was before; he actually makes a splah when he swims up to snatch them!
