i have been in the hobby since i was four and i have bred mollies and platys but never gold gouramis!about 2years ago i purchased a male and female gold gouramis!today, the male twisted around the female and then a clound of eggs spilled out!the male quickly let her go and got the eggs and the female tried too come back but the male charged at her!i know these are the sighns of breeding but i have never witnessed this before!the male wont let any of my fish neer the nest and is working non-stop!i dont think they will live but im planning on getting a seperate 10g and putting the pair in there so they will breed.once they breed i will place the female back and when the fry are free-swimming i will place the male back in the 55g!i wish i could get pics but i cant!i am so exited!i never really gave them names so i guess now that i am more interestead in them i will.i will name the female Concore and the male Restricted!please give me some tips on raising the fry and the correct diets.PLEASE DO NOT SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT THIS:i have 2 nice turtles and a small pacu i rescued.they are in the 55g w// the gouramis!they never fight and the nitrites and everything are normal and its JUST temperarally until i finish the pond in my back yard.it will be finished in about 1month.

Yea... both the parents should be removed at the time the fry are free swimming..... First foods include infusoria and newly hatched brine shrimp... Get tetramin no.1 for egglayers and when about a week old start feeding crushed normal flakes.... They are generally easy to rear, but on their own.... no other fish in the rearing tank.

i have some dried brime shrimp and tetra min so i think everything will work out fine:)
