Just wanted to report that the surgery and medication went great looking back. In fact, most people wouldn't know she had a grape sized tumor on her side just a few weeks ago. If you don't have a scalpel,a sterilized box cutter is very sharp. Vodka a good anesthesia. Hobby medications for follow up.

Need some background information about this???

What are the dose rates for vodka to get a fish hammered so it passes out?

I wrote about it on a "my Koi has tumor" somebody else had posted. Right at that time my Shubunkin was a few months with a big ugly tumor. I followed what the "Fish Doctor" did on youtube with as much sterile equipment as possible. Bleach for the boxcutter.
It was the first time I ever did anything like that. Meaning no reason to let those fish die of them. Tumors like that are removable. Just follow-up with antifungal medication.
The Vodka was just all a guess. A half shot per gallon for 10 minutes..then get going.
