Goldfish & Koi

hi all,after much agonising about it iv decided to put my goldfish in my brother in laws pond this may cus there getting too big for the tank & its not fair on them.anyway,my goldies bodies are about 3 to 4 inches long (not including tails) and my brother in law has got a few 12 inch (or more) koi.will the koi see the goldies as food & try 2 eat them being as there so much smaller?i couldnt bear to put them in the pond if i thought they were gona become dinner.thanx for any help in advance! x

Hi flumpet.I have about 8 koi (about 8 inches long) and 4 golfish in my pond.
The goldfish had babies late last year (6 eggs managed to survive) and these babies are now about 2 inches long.
The koi dont seem to bother them at all.

thanx for the reply george&ade.at the moment iv got my 4 goldies in a tank with 4 peppered cories & someone warned me that as the goldies got bigger they would try 2 eat the cories.thats why i wondered about the koi.like i said,i couldnt bear to give them away if they were gona be eaten!!!youve put my mind at rest now tho,thanx for that! x

Ah...sorry....didnt realise you had corries as well......not too sure about that im afraid

im keepin the cories,its the goldies im putting in a pond.i used the cories as an example cus sum1 told me that when the goldies got bigger they would eat the cories.so i wondered if the koi would eat the goldies because of the size difference.so the info you gave me was right,ta very much! x
