Eternally pruned fingers!
I used to have a goldie in a bowl identical to this
but with coloured gravel. My sister then won one at a fair and it also got to live in there. Mine lived for 10 years but my sister's ones didn't survive long at all. No filter or anything like that.
Mum would put the bowl in the sink, scoop the fish in to an ice cream tub with fresh tapwater in, then scour the tank out with tapwater until it ran clean. The fish would then be poured back in to the tank and put back on my bedroom windowsill. I even remember it living on top of the telly for a while
Looking back on it I am amazed my goldie lasted that long!
