my husbands mom had koi's for years, she would keep the fish out side in fish pond for summer then put them in tanks in the winter they had babys just a few weeks ago and she said i can take two if i want. and i do until my husband said to me well they might eat your mollies. but the baby koi are abit smaller or the size of my mollies, so do i bring them home or should i not.
there so cute and koi's are so pretty i had 7 before for 4 years til they got sick and died they grow big, so im not sure what to do, it's like life or death for my fish and i want th koi so should i take a chance ??

All I can tell you my friend is that the kois will kill your mollies. For starters they grow bigger, they are not delicate and they will eat anything that is a bit smaller than they are. Also, they sh@#t like theres no tomorrow.Remember mollies are delicate when it comes to water conditions and kois being gold fish after all, will polute(spell) your water very quickly.
My advise to you is,do not keep them in the same tank.

I do not personally believe koi should be kept in a tank at all. They need the swimming space, the heavy duty filtration and they grow big - my neighbour was just proudly showing off his 20" koi to me (he was given it by a neighbour who's pond was too small).

Also, they're cold water fish and mollies are tropical. Cold water fish suffer oxygen deficiency in a warm tank and their immune system can suffer badly.
