golden wonder killfish

Hi and Welcome! I personally am not sure, but you might get a better response if you ask this in Tropical Chit Chat :)

Look up Aplocheilus lineatus. The "golden wonder" is an artifical morph of that species. it grows up to around 8 cm typically, but can get a little bigger. For it's size it is a remarkably effective predator, and will eat guppies, neons, livebearer fry, etc. Don't mix with small fish. Will also take small invertebrates including shrimps (so don't mix with Amano shrimp!).

Originally from Asia, they like neutral water conditions best, but will also thrive in slightly brackish water. Easy to breed, except the parents will eat the fry!

Cheers,

Neale

I don't know either, but it's amazing what I could find on google ;)

Info such as this as a first result.

Hope that helps.

Under optimum aquarium conditions with regular water changes and a varied diet of live, frozen and dried foodstuffs, Aplocheilus lineatus (Gold) can and will attain a length of 10cms or 4". They look cute when small, but when the grow they become boisterious & predatory and will feed on anything that will fit into their deceptively large mouths. Do not keep them with the likes of neons etc.
(its not the fishes fault, its in their nature as a surface dwelling predator)

BigC
