I have an800-900 gal pond and wanted to maybe add some golden dojo loaches. I have owned other loach species and done some research and some people said that they are cold water fish. if so, could they stand a pond that goes from about 50 degrees f in the winter to about 75 degrees f in the summer?```````````

That is fine for them. You need to be careful they don't escape into your local eco-system as they are a very adaptable fish that could cause a problem as an invasive species. Just google weather loach and you will find all you need to know about them.

awesome! also its a manmade pond and there are no other surrounding bodies of water for them to infest so thats good!

Still watch out in case of severe weather causing flooding although a loach will probably be the last of your worries. Come back if you have any questions after you have trawled through the care sheets online.

i have 3 golden dojo loaches in my 120 gallon pond. i put them in last summer and they survived the winter just fine. they survive everything really, they're incredibly hardy and they can live for about a decade. the brown ones get bigger than the gold types but you might have a hard time viewing a brown loach in a pond.

did you feed your loaches or just let them live off of the pond? i have heard of people doing that. and what is your pond substrate? mine is basically rocks so that doesn't seem like something that they would like :(
