my apple snail is about 1inch maybe 1.5 but its gone from a lovly yellow colour to now a very pale yellow with lots of white patches on it

does anyone know how i can sort this out to get snail back to its origional colour?

thanks

You're keeping your snail in water that's too acidic for it most likely. When the PH drops below 7, the shell starts to dissolve. Eventually snails can die from this. There's no way reverse the issue, but if you re-home him into a more alkaline tank, or put some crushed coral in your filter, it should halt.

would normal tropical fish be ok if i put some crushed coral into the filter i have a canister Rena XP3 filter right now.

not sure of the ph but
2 oscars
2 birchirs
4 moonlight gouramis
2 plecs
1 silver molly
1 soft shell turtle.

3foot tank right now waiting for the 4foot one

wow, your way overstocked, even for a 4ft 75g.
you have a turtle in there?? ohh no....
what type of plecs
the oscars will need a 100g min for the two.

there pretty small still im not sure if i want to keep them anyway,

back to the origional question

would the fish be ok if i put some crushed coral into the filter canister?
