Ok, the "purple" parrots that I have looks like they have convict stripes and the face of a parrot kind of looks like a convict.
About the severum thing. There is a "convict" that looks like a severum (cryptoheros sajica I think)
Cryptoheros is part of the cichlasoma family and can hybridize with most other cichlidsi nteh cichlasoma family such as RDs and acaras, and firemouths, etc.
The severus (only one confirmed species) of the "heros" genus is sort of part of the cichlasoma family but not really as it cannot hybridize with anyhing and it doesn't show the agressive behaviors of the other cichlids in that family.
