I was at the LFS today and they had gold rams.
I am wondering if they really exist or if they were dyed.
They were a canari-yellow color.

It's just a natural color morph like any other fish (i.e. blue gourami, gold gourami)

:fun:

i had one who suddenly passed away :rip: i got a pic of him in members aquarium anf fish pics if u wanna see him......hes been nominated for fotm.

yes, their are such fish, many forum members keep them

Mine were great little fish, only slightly territorial but nothing to be worried about. They prefer soft and acidic water, I'd check what your LFS keeps them in. The only downside is that they only live a few years, about 3 years on average I beleive, same as the Blue Ram. I would allow at least 25 gallons per pair.

They will go intoo my 16 gal 'new fish' tank for observation then into the 65 gal
Or maybe i should put them in the 65 right away...hmmmmm

I have a Blue and a Golden Ram. Maybe it is just mine but the Golden has always seemed smaller and more fragile than the Blue. They are great community fish. My Blue is in with a tank of White Cloud Mountain Minnows and he schools right along with them and has never shown any agression towards them, even at feeding time. :D
