Gold Ram - Purple Spots?

Just noticed there my female gold ram has developed 2 purple spots in between its eyes and mouth...

Any ideas??

red-purple marks can be a sign of a bacterial infection. Do you have a male? I would guess if you have its a lip locking injury which has become infected. I would remove her to another tank if you have one available and start treating with a general antibacterial medication.

Yeh I do have a male, don't have another tank tho...? Do I have a second option?

Can you possibly pick up a rubbermaid storage tub or something like that?

Yeh got something like that...? What about keeping it heated?

You may want to pick up another heater and filter as well. The storage tub is just cheaper so thought that might be a good alternative since you didn't have another tank. ^^'

How long would I have to leave him out for while he gets her med??

What would happen if I were to leave her would she die?!

as long as the water is clean, you aren't adding new treated cold water then it'll be the same temp as what your house is at. make sure there is water flow with a bubblier or small filter and you'll be fine. i do it to my fish when they are sick.. just easier then putting up another tank.
 
if it is infected then it can progress to become worse. if you don't have real plants then treat with methylene blue (its my #1 go to) treated almost everything.. make sure that the water is very clean and give her some time. oh and remove carbon. just make sure that the other fish you have wont be effect and or you can put her in the bucket etc instead of the male with some cover plants and water movement.. keep the water clean and it'll be fine.

Yes I've got around 10 real plants… She is hiding away a fair bit like...
