My LFS which I frequent recently got some gold Pristella in. I noticed that many of them, maybe up to a third of them, have a kinked spine; some of them quite severely. Since the normal pristellas they have do not have this kinked spine, I assume it has something to do with the variation, maybe with inbreeding... But that isn't the question.
My curiosity is how badly a kinked spine like this effects a fish. Does it make them more prone to future health problems? I've always had a soft spot for, lets say, defective pets. But I don't want to consider getting them if I am setting myself up for failure. Ideas? They all seem to get around just fine.
