Gold Nugget Pleco Help?

Hi I recently got a gold nugget pleco and i was just woundering how big he will grow and how fast at the moment he is about 3 inches long.

hi james,

i believe they can grow up to about 13 inches (35cm). hope that helps.

ps - i think they grow about 1cm every 6-8 weeks in the right conditions and with the correct food!

You will find it will not grow to larger than 20cm in an aquarium. In the wild it will he larger but I had one and researched and spoke to a lot of people about them and it seemed 20 was tops

Hi James ,i think you need to find out which gold nugget you have (there are three different kinds)sorry i can't remeber the L numbers,one of them grows to about 8 inches,the other two get bigger .I had one til recently,he/she grew about 2 inches in three years.hope thats helps.Greg
