Is it possible to have 2 gold gouramis in a 29g tank with a school of bloodfin tetras, and neon tetras?

The tank is planted and has some large pieces of wood in it for hiding. The LFS said they would only be 3" but after reading it looks like they can get up to 6? Thanks for feedback

A pair of golden gouramis should be fine in 29g.

How big are the neons and bloodfins?

gold gouramis can get to 5 or 6 inches long but most are only 3inches when sold at the shop. Personally I wouldn't trust them with small fish like tetras. They might be fine but have been known to eat small fish.

The bloodfins are about 1 in and a little bigger. I havnt put any neons in there yet, but they seems smaller than the bloodfins.

Bloodfins are too smal unless the gouramis are smaller than 2 inches then it will be fine to put them in.

Hi

I have 2 Gold Gourami's approx 4-5 inches in a 30g with a shoal of 8 Cardinal Tetras, Pygmy Corys and other fish too. They are very peaceful, and I have never seen them show any aggression at all to any of the other fish. They are both female though, I have heard that males can be a bit more of handful. They absolutely love hiding in the plants, and do tend to mirror each other closely. Really lovely fish IMO. :good:
