Going to LFS tommorow

Finally I'm going to be able to stock my 50uk gal tank. At the moment it has 5 pearl danios and a rubbernose plec. So I'm thinking cories, lots. Neons about 12. Gourami? rasbs aswell but what about barbs? No angels of course. Can I get another plec or will the one in their be deffinsive towards him? Any respons would be great. Thanks for the help guys

Ok Maybe I'll scrap the barb idea but I would like a single red tailed shark.

You can still stick to the bards, but don't go for the tiger ones. They are famous for nipping. Gouramis are fine community fish, which seems like the kind of tank you are setting. Well Plecos get quite large in size as they mature, one should be enough for your tank. Have fun,.

Also make sure you check your fish before you buy them, make sure there is no sick fish in the tank you are getting the fish from and of course get the most healthy ones. Telling you from experience i got myself some fish without looking carefully at them and i didn't have and quarantine tank set up. So i got my tank infected and 2 casualties from it and i am still fighting the problem, some are still ill. So check your fish b4 u commit

I thought that rubernose plecs and bushynose plecs don't get all that big?
But it sounds like it's gonna be a good setup though

I'll think i'll compliment him with Cories and heavily plant the tank. I'll put in 3 dwarf gouramies and a load of neons/Glowlights and rasbs of some description. I'm going to see if I can get some shrimps aswell becuase they are so cool

Sounds like you should be able to have 2 rubbernose or bristlenose plecs. 50 UK gallons is nice and big, and if you have some plants and hiding spaces then they should have enough space to avoid nasty tuffles. Sometimes it's hard to find my rubbernose in a 20 US gallon tank, so 2 sounds good for your tank.

Well I went to shurdington and was horrified at the prices!!!!! they called (I think agassizi) cories spotted and were charging £5.90 each!!! I wanted a shoal but not for £5.90! So I'll but cories elsewhere. I got 7 neons 4 striped barbs and a red tailed shark (who is so cool!) anyway I didn't buy much and it came out costing £70 I went bright red but it wasn't my money and the lady gave me 10% off but I wasn't too impressed by it. Their tanks where nice but they didn't have a big selection of fish No dead ones or anything but the prices were through the roof!!!!

Nice piece of Mopani bogwood (£9.90)
Hikari algae wafers
Tetra min
2 Metres air hose
Massive airstone (£1.55, anyone noticed that a 12 inch airstone is like only a couple of pence more than say a 3 inch)
3 plants
Red tailed shark
7 Tetras
4 barbs

so that is where your £72 goes to!!!!! doesn't seem much to me!

Ahh ok, that's slightly better then, still not much though, sounds like a very expensive shop to me!
