We'll be leaving for a few days next week to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with my family, and I still have a tank full of a dozen fry. I don't know that they'd survive on their own in the fry tank for that long (about 4 days) so should I put them in the regular cory tank? I'm sure some will survive, but the tiniest ones I wonder about in either place. I don't think they'd have enough food in the fry tank, and in the big tank is there a chance they'd be eaten? There's quite a few places to hide in the big tank with the driftwood, java moss and other plants. (I can't believe as I'm writing this that there's a bronze cory egg-laying festival going on!)

ouch, tough predicament, im not sure about with cory's but when i had other fry and had to leave, i crushed some flake into basically powder, and had it on one of those timed auto feeders. possibly a friend or neighbor would be willing to help you out? also try your local LFS, they may be willing to hold them for you if they have an empty tank, or yours is small enough to move, for a small price. i know mine does.

they will be fine for 4 days on their own without food

its still early and i didnt read, just give a good feeding before youleave and they should be ok. for some reason i had just assumed it was longer. i guess thats a sign its time to plug in the coffee maker.

feed normally, an excessive feed could cause an ammonia spike. like i said, 4 days is perfectly fine. Fry do require a little bit more additional care/feeding if you want maximum growth but that can be put aside for a short time. Maybe uproot a couple of plants from you main tank and dump them in there while you are away. micro organisms will be plentiful on the root system and leaves.

I've just put the 7 biggest fry into the main tank. I plan to put the remaining 4 in there next week, after they've had a chance to grow a bit more. There's just not enough food to scrounge in the fry tank, I'm afraid.

And I never feed more than usual before leaving town.
