So I am going on holiday on for 2 weeks, I currently have 3 female guppies and 10 guppy fry in a breeder box in a 54 litre tank. I am looking for advice on feeding them both and any tips.

I have bought an automatic feeder which I can set 3x a day for the fry. But was wondering about the the other holiday food for the guppy adults.

Or should I let the fry out and will they get enough food if in with the three adult guppies. They are around 2 weeks old the fry. But relatively big already.

Any advice would help thanks guys 🙂

I went away for a week not long ago and tried something new to me. Holiday Gel food. At that time I had 11 fish + shrimp in my 90L and I came back to some plump fish apart from two deaths related to deformity.

I picked these up from Abyss in Stockport. Water parameters were better than I expected them to be when I got back. Just make sure you don't feed too much and foul the water. Other members will definitely give better insight into feeding while away :)

Forgot to mention I fed a decent amount of live foods the day before I left. No Idea if it helped but I did see some daphnia alive the next day on my cameras which the fish eventually hunted. Have a nice holiday too :)

Ah thanks for the advice!! I’ll need to try Abyss in Stockport. Not been there before, as for the gel drops not seen those either may have to invest. It’s more the fry they have to be fed 3x a day I’ve been told, unsure if they would get food from the gel but I could ask at the store.

I have been told to do a 50% water change before I leave and the when I get back asap.

I’m intrigued I was debating getting a camera also which camera do you have for them if you don’t mind me asking?

Thanks

Probably not if in a breeder box. Hopefully, another member with more experience in this matter will reply.

That's what I did as well

I got this one. I also got a micro SD card with it. I had one looking at my 60 and the other on my 90. It just gave me peace of mind that I could check up on them whenever I wanted.

It's a great store with knowledgeable staff. Just be careful of the salesmen's trap of buying what they say. The majority of the time they are great and helpful but they have to make a profit somehow. If they suggest products that you are a bit "iffy" about, have a research online or ask on the forum.

Those fry will be okay for the coming two weeks also without being fed. Not always visible to the eye but there's still enough food in the tank that wasn't consumed by those guppies.
I've just moved my coral red adults with their week old fry to another tank which offers more space for them. No fry will be eaten by them.

I'm not saying that you should release those fry. Mine just won't eat their fry. Doesn't mean that yours won't.
Most of my livebearers are so used to very small tank mates that they just leave those fry alone. But again, that doesn't mean that your adults won't eat those two week old fry.
