Going A Different Direction :d

Well... I only have the clown knife right now... along with 5 corry cats and 1 common pleco... yes I know he gets big... he's going next week and I'll get a BN instead... also by the time he's big enough to consume full grown tiger barbs (remember they may be small... but man are they speedy :p) I'll have gotten atleast a 100gallon tank.. Canes tank in actually only 99gallons (I converted the 450L to gallons...) and a 99 gallon tank doesn't cost an arm and a leg... BUT man those fish must've :p  anyways ok lets say this then my FINAL stocking scheme!!!

1 Clown knife (already in the tank)
1 Pleco
10 cory cats (5 already)
30 tiger barbs
Mabye 10 black skirts if I can find em for $1 each

anyways cane... if I didn't get the CK originally I probably would've listened to your information more thoroughly

 that may be true :p anyways, the tank you have you arowana and CK in what size is it? I read in one post is 450L that's only 99 gallons........ but then others say it's "huge!" like breeze... what size is it actually in gallons?? Please gimme a hand  I'm not good with this kind of thing :p

100 gallons is pretty big fishkrazy - and I just read you had to get rid of your oscars because you had them stuffed in too small of a tank.... odd. you also claimed when you first got them that you were going to upgrade and then your mom wouldn't let you.
I just don't think it's fair to keep a fish with no intend to give it the live it needs. Your tank will be overstocked. It's cruel. Just keep in mind how quickly these knife fish can grow as several members have already pointed out. You should re-home it and get something just as cool but a little smaller!!

The OP has got several post like this going, quoting 1 source each time, belittling any advice even though it was requested, and being downright rude. I've also noticed that he/she is giving out advice, when in another thread they are requesting it on the same subjects.

Apart from the fact that you don't care about fish and are only after a WOW factor tank without a thought to the fish itself, just something to show off to your mates, you need to be a bit more polite, don't tell someone they are wrong until you have looked at several different sources and proved that they are wrong. Different sources quote different things, some are mistypes, some are because the page was copied from a similar fish and they've forgot to change 1 detail, and some are just trying to sell big fish to anyone who will believe.

When I came on this forum I found everyone to be nice and polite, very helpful but just lately there are a lot of people just not interested in listening or learning and so single minded that they might as well just stay off the forum and decide what the facts are themselves.

Please a little courtesy, care and an open mind.

EXCUSE ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here's an idea, why don't you take your own advice! don't come to some random thread to bad mouth people, and FYI 100 gallon tank isn't that large, I have a 350 gallon bowfront African Cichlid tank at my dad's place... here's another Idea... don't think that you can judge me and say "you don't care about fish..."
YET AGAIN DON'T JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS !

Another thing... I appriciate everybodys advice... but when I've seen numerous times that a certain fish grows to a certain size and others tell me it grows much larger, especially when I work for 3 years in a fish store, I am not asking about the species of fish and their maximum size... I'm asking if a certain stocking scheme would work... If I wanted to know the full size of a clown knife in a 200+ gallon tank than I would ask "hey does anybody know the maximum size of a clow knife?" DO YOU SEE THAT ANY WHERE HERE!!!?

*This is a family forum, watch your language.*

when you ask about stocking a 55 with a clown knife of course the adult size of the fish is gonna be a contributing factor.

Personally I dont think you care about your fish, even if you do, you do not plan to give them what they need, there is no need to call someone a jackass, especially if they are right. I personally think ignorant people like you should not keep fish, as for saying that you will upgrade to a 100Gallon tank, it almost never happens, its like an excuse for keeping large fish in a small tank. Unless you acually have pictures to the 350G, i dont beleive you either, and its at your dad's place, you arnt the one taking care of it, if you are, well the tank cant be very sucessful then imo.

take a chill pill. do your research, and dont ask for oppinions if you arnt going ot take them, period.

After reading your profile, i really dont think you care about your fish's requirements, 1 clown loach in a 33 Gallon, what are you going to do with it? add it to your 55 gallon and be overstocked, or is it already dead by now?

I doubt his mom would let him upgrade either, its usually just an excuse for keeping big fish in a small tank in my experience.

BTW nice fishes cane :good:

Here's an idea. Take your childish mood swings and tantrums elsewhere. Sooner rather than later, preferably, we're all pretty fed up of it by now.

See... I come here for advice... if I didn't care, I wouldn't come here! Also FYI, I've talked my dad tonight and we're getting 100 gallon tank tomorrow when I go to pick up my 30 tiger barbs my my LFS... and Cane, you say 100gallon upgrade is way to small?! you have a 100gallon tank with odd balls! the only thing that will go into this 100 gallon tank will be my clown knife in like 4-5 weeks when it's cycled... and what do you have in your 100gallon tank cane??? OH THAT'S RIGHT A CLOWN KNIFE!

ok so I agree with everyone here EXCEPT fish, but me being a newbie (well sort of) myself what the heck is an OP - that Q is mostly too supercooley!!!

Krazy - can't wait to see pics of the 100 G Awesoem tank, tons to work with in that!

Cane - we're pals adn as we say, you can't win em all!!!
