Glo shark died 😢 what did I do wrong??

yeah barbs are aggressive
have you checked its underside for red markings?

ammonia, nitrite, nitrate!
those are very likely for an uncycled tank.
All were good when I tested them. Even after he died.

They can move pretty quick and when they do no tank is big enough for them. I have had several Redtail Sharks end up on the floor over the years.
That’s crazy omg. I keep my lid on. Never stays off the tank. 😩

We named this guy "Suicide Fish" cos when I did water changes he would take off. You can see the scale damage on his side

Oh wow lol
What kind is he? How big? When I did water changes, I kept all fish in the water. He never acted weird.
He is a Redtail Black. ( Labeo Bicolor ). He was around 5 inches long. Just a nutty fish!!

Having read your previous thread and all of this one, the one thing I pick up above all others is your haste to fill your tank.
Because of this, it would be difficult for me to assess what, exactly, was the problem with it.
Given that the ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels are apparently not an issue, this suggests either disease or attack. (I hear the leaping onto the roof, with subsequent fatal head injury theory, but this would be near the bottom of possibilities for me, Occam's Razor and all that ;) ).
There has been lots of information regarding the Tiger Barbs and their aggression, especially when in small numbers...so these may be responsible for any attack.

Moving on...in future, please slow down.
Changes to a tank should be taken slowly, especially when adding new fish. (This is why I'll always say that it is wrong to add all your fish as soon as you think your tank has cycled sufficiently to manage waste).
I add the first fish and closely observe.
A week later, (yes...a whole week), I add the next batch of fish and again closely observe.
Another week later, the next fish would be added and so on.

Even now, with a relatively established tank, if I change anything, I watch it all like a hawk, looking for any changes in behaviour as well as the usual water testing.

In theory, if anything goes wrong, I'll be able to specify exactly what it was that (probably) caused the damage.

The thing that leaps out at me is a complete lack of sight line blocking.

When you have fish which are potentially aggressive, such as Tiger Barbs, you absolutely must have sight blocking in place.

Does not matter whether you have real or artificial plants, your fish need places that they can hide and feel secure...especially if there is a bully already in the aquarium or you add a bully or two.

Fish need to have sanctuary.....just as we humans like to be alone sometimes, so do fish.

Looking at your scaping, yes you have planting...but....its single plants dotted here and there all over the place. Ideally fish prefer to have clumped planting and rocks and wood that they can hide within, especially if they are stressed by being chased by new fish that are out and out bullies....such as Tiger Barbs.

I would strongly suggest that you rescape the aquarium. Clump the plants together and add to them so that your fish no longer get a 360 degree view of each other 24/7, add rock formations, again for the fish to shelter behind when they feel uncomfortable or are dozing......basically anything to block the view from one fish to another

I would hazard a guess that your shark was chased and harrassed to death, probably after dark. Its a very commonplace issue when there are mixed species that are potentially aggressive and no sight blocking has been done.

Thank you!! I will work on the plants today. As o watched them for the one day they were in the tank, I didn’t see any issues among them. What happened after I went to bed, I’ll never know. I checked to see if they ( barbs and shark) we compatible mates, and read that they were. Again, this is all mew to me and I am trying to figure it out 😢.
