I bought a piece of glass the other day to divide my 10g. The betta in there didn't like the current of the filter, so I figured that would be better than a regular tank divider. It's working nicely, BUT it doesnt seem to want to stand still. Can anyone give me some suggestions as to what I could do about this? I was thinking of some type of clip to hold the top steady, but I wouldn't know what kind or where to get them. At the moment I'm using hair clips, baggie ties, and tape...

:) i use a piece of perspex to divide my tank. there are holes drilled in it to allow the current and the heat to go through. as for the glass i dont know what you can use im afraid. the perspex fits really tight in and i push it well in to the gravel.

Does the glass have any holes in it to allow water flow and such?

No, it has no holes. It's ok now, I would just like something better looking than hair clips ;) Do you think it would be ok to buy a piece, say 8" high, and somehow bond craft canvas to the top so some flow could get through?

I have glass dividers in my only divided tank. The tank was made as a dividable tank, so it's got grooves in the sides where you slide the glass pieces. I hate them. I would highly recommend makling a divider that allows water to pass through!

Yeah my favorite divided subtank (it's not exactly an all glass aquarium) has these nice sheets of plastic that have a lot of passage, but not enough for someone to get nipped or escaped through.. i put a male and female in there together, and they were flaring through the glass.. and a male that I never would have guessed make a nest, made a nice hefty one over night :)
