ive got a pair of glass cats in my tank all they do is hide in a piece of tunnel ive got in my tank is this normal or not ive had them 2 weeks now they never come out and swim round

I think that you need to get a couple more. They are a pretty shy fish in general I think, but adding more would make them feel more comfortable, and it would provide a more natural environment.

They should really be kept iin groups. Sometimes they can be kept in pairs but yours are obviouly not comfortable otherwise they'd be out and about. Just be sure to keep an even number as they have a tendency to pair off and the lone one will pine.

I keep 2 but mine are always visible and active. :)

i have 3 in 10g they are always out and about.
i had three my 55 gallon all they did was hid in a log and i never saw them, 2 ended up dieing from stavation i think cause i never saw them eat.
so imoved the remaining to the 10 and bought 2 more.
they are very shy fish.
what size is you tank?

They are schooling fish and should be kept in higher numbers. They are also fairly aggressive and very active. I have 5 in my 15 gallon long and feel that the tank is too small for these very active fish. In the future I will only get them in a larger tank. They all hid for the first couple of weeks, but are now out quite a bit.
