Hi there,
At the moment I have a 125l tank with...

3 x Tetra
1 x Bolivian Ram (female)
6 x Gold Barb
5 x Khuli Loach
3 x Cory Cats

In the coming weeks I will be adding

2 x Cory's
1 x Bolivian Ram (male)

But I will also be losing (in a few months)

6 x Gold Barbs (as they will grow too big :( )

So my question is...

Would glass cats be a good fit in my set up?
To replace the barbs. And if so how many? I was thinking 3.

The tank would then be...
3 x Tetra
2 x Bolivian Ram (m/f)
5 x Khuli Loach
5 x Cory Cats
3 x Glass Cats

Can anyone think of anything that isn't going to be compatible with glass cats by the way?

Actually, scrap that question.
They'll probably be too big. Thing is...my dad chose the gold barbs (without researching) So I said we'd need to get rid of them as they grew. Well he decided he'd like glass cats to replace them.
But I'll have to steer him in the direction of something a bit more suitably sized.

there are a couple of types of glass catfish. The smaller variety, which is completely clear apart from the skeleton and stomach, grows to about 3inches and would be fine in a 125litre tank.
I would also look at getting more tetras because they prefer to be kept in groups.

I know they prefer groups but along with the gold barbs my dad decided (without my knowledge may I add), that he'd go out and buy 5 neons 5 silvertip tetra and 5 khuli loach all in one go....and this was when I still had my 60l!!!!!

We had a blazing row...where of course 'How dare I talk to him like that', but anyways the result was that I lost 3 of my original 5 neons and 4 of the new ones. I sold the silvertips and have only just properly stablised the water/filter.

I've got him round to my understanding now so there will be no more 'accidents'. But it does mean my poor neons were the ones to suffer
I will probably get a couple in the coming months. But at the mo they're out n about, sticking together n feeding well.
