Hi. I noticed today that one of our glass catfish (we have two) has a red sort of splodge on its side, above its swimbladder. It is red enough to be maybe blood - like internal bleeding or something - but i have no idea how this could have been caused. I put a pic in so you can see. It is poor quality but its the best I can do.
Catfish
It is swimming perfectly normally, and doesn't seem to be bothered by it but I am very worried about what it might be.
Tank stats are:
20 gallon tank, with:
1 Angelfish
6 neons
1 Black neon
2 glass catfish
2 Rosy tetras
3 rosy barbs
pH is 7.4
GH is 10
Nitrite and Ammonia are 0
Did a water change two days ago so I don't think Nitrate is very high.
Only thing I can imagine might have conceivably caused it is that I turned off the aeration today because I want more CO2 in my tank for the plants. However, there is still plenty of water turnover from the Fluval 3 filter in there, so I doubt lack of oxygen is an issue.
What is wrong with him/her (not sure which!)?
