well my dad owns a machine shop and he hass a glass bead booth and i was using it and it has a nice whit sand in it its pretty cheap and i was wondering if it would be suitible for me tank

Glass tends to show dirt in nasty ways and would need more cleaning then rock.. Sensitive fish probably wont like it esp if it is light colored or reflective. It could look cool... if you are into art deco tanks.

I don't see why it wouldnt work. It's not much different than silica sand. The whole tank is made out of glass so you know it's not poisonous.

glass beads pretty much is sand, except for one ingredient. i don't think it will distract your fish very much because there will be so many different angles going on in the bottom that it won;t turn out to be a mirror effect. i think it may look neat at night time...
