I have had aquariums on and off for the past 50 years, from 30 to 100 gal. Currently I have a 75 gal. Freshwater tank. I owned an advertising & marketing firm but since I retired a few years ago, I have studied all the things I wish I had taken the time to learn about fishkeeping. I look forward to learning more on this forum!

I currently have angels, dwarf gouramis, Buenos Aires Tetras, zebra danios, rummy nose, corys, New Guinea Rainbow and pleco.

It’s a common pleco that’s about 6 inches long. Almost has outgrown its welcome and will go back to the fish store to trade for a smaller one.

Ooh, maybe you could get a nice algae eater when you do wind up rehoming it. Maybe a bristlenose would be best suited to your needs!

A Pleco/“algae eater” really won’t take care of any algae. They usually make more a mess than they clean up.

I just have a Pleco because I love them, lol.

That’s a bummer that it’s to big for your tank now. I would be devastated if I had to give up my Pleco. :(

Look for a bristle nose or “rubber” lip; they only get to be around 5 inches long.

My friend that has the fish store has a demand for larger plecos, so I offered to help him out. Eventually I will probably get a bristlenose or clown that won’t get so big.
