Right, I need your advice please.

What tank dimensions are suitable for a full grown gibby and a BN? I need to start thinking along these lines if we're going to keep De Niro long term (although he was in the LFS for well over a year and only reached 4-5", not having grown much since he came).

For the time being he's in our 4ft x 15" x 18" tank, and the likelihood is he and the BN will be our only plecs.

Although I doubt he'll reach maximum size, it's best to be prepared, so what are the minimum tank dimensions for those two plecs?

Could I get away with 4 or 5 x 2 x 2? We don't have a big house.

You'll be fine. Plecs, generally, are pretty tolerant about tank size. They don't move about much, and what does matter is the surface area of rockwork and wood rather than swimming space. So in a 4 foot tank with lots of surfaces for the fish to explore (and eat algae from) it should be fine.

Filtration is perhaps a more critical issue.

Cheers,

Neale

I know we're okay for now, but we're not for when he's bigger - 15" front to back won't do it as he'll outgrow that. But yeah, he's got his bogwood etc.

I don't want him looking over cramped, so I was wondering if anyone here had a fully grown gibby and if so what they house them in?

Thanks for your advice :D
