right now my common plec is just under 3 inches long, he is moved between all my tanks depending on where the alge is and i do know that one day he will be a huge fishy. i would hate to give him away as my fihs are like friends to me. when he does grow to this monsterous size, would i be able to keep him in a garden pond? how hardy are they at that size? what are the water temps they require? i live in wisconsin, it gets cold here in the winter but the summers are pretty warm with temps between 80-100 during the day at 65-80 at night, wat do u guys think? i could also add a heater for the winter time, those round ones that you put in a horses water tub to keep it freezeing, they work great i hear.

and then there is alternative number two.... i wonder how plecos taste fried... -_- :D

no accually i only move him like every 2 weeks and i try to keep the water stats pretty simular for him. they really r tough lil fish, iv droped from 6 feet on 2 occasions (accually he jumped) and has survived a long string of disease like an ich outbreak and some eye fungus. i understand the whole shock thing and how he shouldn't be moved too often, but i do make sure he'll b ok, after moving him i watch him for a good hour. gotten really attactched to the lil sucker :D

haha thats right, since i got him i dont think he's ever been sick. when i got him from walmart he was in pathetic shape, nearly blind, didn't eat much, thin, and he was in a cichlid tank, he was a lil bit nibbled up -_- i find him to be one of the easiest fish iv ever kept, thats why im worried about him getting too big because i heard a sthey get bigger they are harder to care for -_-
