Just updating. I just have another new batch of my giant male plakat with a red gold halfmoon female. The babies just hatching and a lot a lot inside. The father is so busy now picking up the babies and I have to feed him because he is big eater and need food everyday.
The first batch only got 24 babies and they started to growth big now. Around three weeks old now and looking good. Picture will be up soon.
OK. Here is my giant plakat male! Aren't he is cool? He is a big eater anyway and have to feed him everyday in the babies tank. He got blue sparkling eyes and the sparkling green tail do become blue. Just changing colors when the light hits it. This is the second batch with a gold red hm female. The first batch is with a red hm female.
Here is the first red hm female long tail. Only got 24 babies. She release few eggs in her first time and she stop laying. So I will try again next time since her tummy still huge. I am very eager to see how the babies look like especially the tail and maybe are 4 rays to 8 rays. She got a lot of rays. 8 or 16?
I don't think the babies will have veiltail. LOL
The first batch of their babies and 24 of them. I put them in a 1 gallon plastic tank and it's been for more than 2 weeks now. Not heater, no plant or air bubbles. They do just fine since my house set to 80 degree F. Everyday sucking the bottom water out and add aged water. Around 35% change water.
Here is the second female. She is a red gold hm female and just pair up this week with the giant plakat. The sibling of the red gold male is a rosetail hm. He is in my banner but anyway, the female is too big for him so I just pair her up with this giant plakat. A lot of babies in the tank since she release all her eggs. The giant plakat will take good care of the babies for 10 days and I trust him. He is a fun guy and he loves to eat like a pig. I am just lazy to take care of the tiny babies and he is very gentle to his babies one. LOL
Here is an update of my second batch red halfmoon babies. Too many in the tank. 300 plus? I just got one new 20 gallon tanks yesterday and today will get two more . I will count when I transfer them. So many babies. Oh yes, I still got the golden yellow halfmoon with the mask fancy red gold halfmoon babies. They are in 10 gallon tank for 8 days now.
Here is my first batch of red halfmoon babies. In the tank, I put 3 tsunami babies because they are small. In the tank also I put in the first batch of bling bling babies. I saw one solid gold color and it is a mask too. Most of them have green bling bling and with red tail.
Thanks aznmidnite. It is fun to share my experiences to all the members here with pictures. It is so easy to takecare the babies now. I really don't know how many babies I got now. LOL More to come. Breeding process now. LOL Oh yeah, the giant plakat will pair with another platinum pink hm virgin female after this. Forgot to take her picture. She is in conditioning right now and maybe 10 days will pair her up with the giant plakat again. Oh yeah, why I pair all the halfmoon females because they all are too big for the halfmoon male.
