giant danios

I was wondering what would be a good school size for giant danios, I was thinking maybe 6 but I've also heard they can be in 3's. Also is 29 gallons large enough for giant danios?

I personally have four in a 30 gal with 4 moustached and 4 bengal danios
also in the tank are 8 WCMs and 6 lampeye panchax and two ottos
the length of the tank is 36" they need lots of open space at the top for dashing about and make a great community.
