Hi everyone, I know this may be a huge long shot, but does anyone know about keeping Pomacea maculata?
I would like to know how they are to keep and breed, if anyone actually has any.
Thanks, Max.

I dont think they are kept in the UK at the moment, none that I have seen or heard of anyway, the largest species kept here is probably Pomacea canaliculata or Pomacea haustrum, haustrum would be very rare in the UK at the moment though if they are still being kept and bred, i remember they were available a couple of years ago.

My missus has some that are neither brigs or canas and I think they maybe either be haustrums or saltons.

Heres a pic.

Hi my partner just informed me our lfs has these breed of snails and they are called Saltons...Keep in mind we are located in Sydney Australia. But dont take this as being a 100% correct as my partner is an amature. He just remembered the name on the snail tank at our lfs and said the snails looked like the ones in the picture you posted. But hey! WHO KNOWS!!!! There are so many different breeds when it comes to snails.

Hope this kinda helps.

Cheers mate! :good:

Thanks guys, I guess that answers my question then!
I have already e-mailed snailshop.co.uk to see if they are getting any haustrums in, but ive not got a reply yet.
Thanks again for the replies, Max.
