Ghost x Blue Dream Shrimp?

Im quite confused because I thought these shrimp were completely and utterly different, but they bred and are doing amazing. Does anyone have thoughts on this? I’m not sure what happened but they are extrema cool looking in my opinion because they are a dark blue speckled with the transparency of the ghosts. The camera does them no justice

Are you sure it was a ghost shrimp? I know wild type cherry shrimp look quite like ghost shrimp

I would guess that they are pure neocardina but the blue is not strong. This happens with my red cherries, some of which are low grade. Males are typically less coloured.

That’s what I thought at first but i am looking and they share some similarities with the ghosts that I don’t see in the regular blues but you are probably correct thanks for your help!

This shouldn’t be possible. Ghost shrimp can and will breed easily in freshwater, but I have never heard of Blue Dream Shrimp and Ghost shrimp breeding! Truly a mystery.

It's unheard of because they simply can't breed. I don't see any resemblance to ghosts in those pictures of neos. The presence of clear patches in their shell is not an indicator of ghost parenthood, neos get that. Neocaridina will produce offspring of varying colour intensities, it's why you often hear of culling. You have some shrimp of different grades (quality). Many colour variants of neocaridina don't even breed true. You can get different colours. If the line of shrimp that led to your was not a pure line, then they can easily throw odd variants out.
