I've been wanting shrimp in my tank for a while now, bu I have not had the time as of late to devote myself to maintaining my simple tank. However, I do now.

I vaguely remember hearing that ghost shrimp did poorly at tropical temperatures and was hoping to get confirmation of this. If it is true I will just have to go with amano shrimp instead.

Ghost shrimp need to be at tropical temps between 70 and 80 degrees also they like to be in groups I have a tank I keep just for them I wait till they grow a good size before I add them to my fish tank, and the little guys will eat anything they really are easy to keep, dont but them in with any large fish or bettas though my male betta dosent bother them but prob. because he likes bloodworms instead. google ghost shrimp and youll find loads of info.hope this helps.Pat :*

The ghost shrimp we have around here will live in cold or warm water. The main thing is to not subject them to sudden temperature changes. If they come out of cool water then keep them in cool water to start with and slowly bring the temp up over a couple of weeks. If they are in warm water then they will be fine going into a tropical tank.

a friend of mine has a tropical tank that stays around 75 degrees F. he has about six or seven ghost shrimp that have lived in there fine for the last couple months...a couple of them are even gettin ready to lay eggs

Ghost shrimp are really easy to take care of, personally I'd set up a species tank for all of the shrimp. Give them some live plants and drop 1-5 sinking pellets into the bottom of the tank. They're great scavengers and love to eat. I find that black gravel or sand makes them easier to find.

Aaaaah necropost!

Topic zombie- RUN!

Anyways, I still haven't got my ghosties yet. I'm setting up a shrimp tank but I still want some in my community. :p
